Woman surprises unsuspecting diners with free wine

PLEASANTON, CA -- A mystery woman is creating quite the buzz in the East Bay. Remember the hidden cash craze? This is sort of like that, but with wine. The woman has been making the rounds recently spreading joy by buying random people a bottle of wine anonymously.

The woman dubbed herself @SecretSommCA on Twitter. "Somm" is short for sommelier, which is a wine steward. She's been plotting sneak attacks since December on unsuspecting diners gifting them bottles of wine.

Every weekend, she tweets clues about where she's going.

She told ABC7 News, "I love the Tri-Valley and I love wine. I want to share my passion by spreading some joy."

SecretSommCA says she'll take a break after Valentine's Day, unless she feels the urge to give.
