HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Self-made Houston poet Amir Safi gave accolades to Texas' beloved Whataburger in a poem that's now making the rounds on the Internet.

Safi delivered the literary piece at his very own 5th Annual Texas Grand Slam Poetry Festival in Bryan College Station, where he so passionately performed on October 9-10.

Safi's "Ode to Whataburger" video went viral as he explained that Whataburger is the world's best fast food restaurant.

"You're the only place I've ever felt safe sitting next to a cop," Safi says in the video. He then bows his head in a moment of silence.

Whataburger was a hangout spot for high school and college students, Safi explains.

He ended his poem by giving thanks for all the Whataburger memories, excellent service and delicious food.

"Wendy's wants to be you when she grows up," he says in his video.
