HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Do you get tired of battling traffic during your lunch hour? What if lunch came to you? One office complex is helping workers avoid the lunch rush.

Post Oak Central is re-defining fast food. The multi-building office center keeps workers from wasting precious time in traffic by bringing food trucks to the office parking lot.

"I can walk down here from my job, and get food, and there are a lot of options out here," one worker told us.

More than a dozen trucks come out, offering everything from a burger and fries from the Burger Joint, to Crawfish Mac N' Cheese Balls from St. John's Fire. Organizers say it's been especially helpful during road construction in the Galleria area.

"Especially with some of the construction that's taking place on Post Oak now, it makes it real convenient for them," organizer Nancyrae Smith of Post Oak Central said.

The meet-up is open to anyone, and just about everyone can find something they like. Workers say they enjoy the camaraderie and the time savings.

"I can usually knock out my lunch here in about 30-45 minutes, rather than an hour and a half," one employee told us.

Smith says the effort helps keep traffic moving in the area.

"We have 1,400 people come out for this, so it's 1,400 people who aren't on the road during lunch," Smith said.

The goal is to give employees more time at the lunch table and less time behind the wheel.
