Elderly woman rescued from NW Harris County house fire

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman is recovering from injuries after she was rescued from her burning home in northwest Harris County overnight.

It happened in the 5300 block of Theall Road around 2 a.m. Saturday.

The elderly woman was found by firefighters inside the home and had burns to her head and upper body, authorities said.

First responders had to use CPR to revive the woman before she was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The heaviest damage to the home was in the kitchen area, but investigators were still working to determine how the fire started.
