HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A Friday afternoon fire completely destroyed a north Houston business Friday afternoon.

A large column of smoke was visible for miles of the two-alarm fire at the Sleep Shop Super Store located along I-45 near Parker.

While there were no injuries reported, the building was a significant loss for the store's owner.

According to owner Michael Premazone, his business has been at the location for 25 years. Six full-time employees are now without their workplace, he said.

As for the cause of the fire, Premazone said a vehicle in a tow yard behind the business caught fire and spread to his store, creating the large inferno.

The fire response has prompted the big backup. Skyeye 13's Don Armstrong said the backup stretches from the Tidwell exit all the way to downtown.
