FBI looking for grocery store bank robber

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The FBI needs the public's help identifying a man accused of robbing a bank located inside a Kroger grocery store.

Around 11am Monday, the man entered the 1st Convenience Bank in the Kroger at 11701 South Sam Houston Parkway East and handed a teller a threatening note demanding cash. The teller complied and the man escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Nobody was harmed during the robbery and witnesses say that the man did not appear to be armed.

The robber is described as a black male in his late thirties to forties. He stands six feet tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. The man was wearing a beige fisherman style sun hat, sunglasses, a tan and green button-down shirt with a white undershirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Crime Stoppers is also offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
