Kids write dad heartfelt note about Hurricane Harvey

WACO, Texas (KTRK) -- As we head into recovery, we thank out-of-town first responders who traveled to Houston to help with relief efforts.

The Waco Police Department posted a heartfelt note from one of their sergeant's daughter.

As off-duty Sgt. Scott Holt headed into harm's way to help with Hurricane Harvey, his children wrote him a letter.

"Dear Daddy. I hope you don't get hurt, but I hope you help other people that need it more than you do. I hope no one gets hurt more. I hope everyone gets away the hurricane. I love you," signed Scott and MaKenna.

Another sergeant who knows the daughter well wrote that he knows it took everything her daddy could do to keep her from coming to Houston.
