HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Two days after a fatal hit and run accident in north Harris County, the family of a 2-year-old survivor says they are still waiting for the driver who killed their relative to come forward.
Jeremiah Aguilar is in recovery at Texas Children's Hospital with a broken leg. His family says he's doing much better today; he's conscious, and now he can eat and drink.

The small boy has a thick blue cast around his left leg, a neck brace, and large scrapes and cuts to his face.
Jeremiah narrowly escaped death Thursday night when his 5-year-old relative, Jayden Aguilar, pushed him out of the way of a speeding car outside a park on Fallbrook Drive.
Jayden, sadly, took the brunt of the impact and died at the scene.
Both boys were in the street after their ball sailed over a fence. The young family members crawled under the fence in an attempt to get the ball, and that is when deputies say they were struck by a vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle took off without helping, and is now wanted in the fatal hit and run.
Family member Doris Aguilar says its time for the driver to turn themselves in to law enforcement.
"Whoever caused this, if he has a heart, [he needs] to come forward," Aguilar says.
Meantime, Jayden's mother says her late son can't rest until the person who killed him is brought to justice.
