Piper Perabo and Daniel Sunjata talk about starring in ABC's 'Notorious'

NEW YORK -- Who decides what stories are worthy of making the news? News producer Julia George (Piper Perabo) and defense attorney Jake Gregorian (Daniel Sunjata) work together to do just that and advance their own careers on "Notorious."

George is modeled after "Larry King Live" producer Wendy Walker, and Gregorian is a fictionalized version of criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos.

Both actors say that they studied their real-life counterparts to get the roles just right, although Sunjata admitted that it was harder for him because Geragos is still a very busy practicing lawyer with very little time to talk.

Perabo said that she had read Walker's book and even sat in a CNN control room to get a feel for the way the news business operates.

Tonight's pilot episode of "Notorious" is sandwiched between the season premieres of "Grey's Anatomy" and "How to Get Away with Murder" at 9 p.m. ET | 8 p.m. CT on ABC.
