Julia Louis-Dreyfus brought her star power to "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Tuesday night. Dreyfus shared the stage with Kimmel during his Austin takeover at South by Southwest.

Louis-Dreyfus, who now stars in the HBO comedy "VEEP," has been nominated for more Emmys than any other female actress. She talked about the show and her days on Seinfeld during a Marie Claire panel at SXSW.

"Humor was a big lifesaver for everyone in my family," said Louis-Dreyfus.

Louis-Dreyfus also revealed she was born funny.

"At the age of three, I stuck two raisins up my nose. My mother thought that was funny. I have a memory of her laughing and then she said, 'Take them out,' and I went like this, I inhaled them. I had to go to the hospital to get them removed," said Louis-Dreyfus.

She also discussed her role on "VEEP" as a female vice president.

"The fact of a female vice president or president just doesn't seem far fetched anymore. It may be because of Barack Obama. It may be because of Hillary Clinton," Louis-Dreyfus said.

Louis-Dreyfus was also asked if her character had any advice for potential presidential candidate Clinton.

"I don't think Hillary Clinton should be taking advice from me. That's my advice. If I give you advice Hillary, don't take it," said Louis-Dreyfus.

Louis-Dreyfus' co-stars on "VEEP" Matt Walsh and Sam Richardson also joined her on stage. Richardson discussed what it was like the very first day he met Louis-Dreyfus and joked about her speaking to him via a proxy.

"You could see her telling the proxy what she was going to tell me," said Richardson.

But there won't be a proxy when Louis-Dreyfus appeared on Kimmel, and fans who attended the taping said Dreyfus didn't disappoint.

Jimmy Kimmel and Louis-Dreyfus celebrated St. Patrick's Day with whiskey shots on the show.
