Halloween alternatives in the City of Houston
Rain or shine, you can have some great Halloween fun in Houston! Here are some of the city's top alternative fall celebrations.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- What are some of Houston's best Halloween alternatives? If it rains or you just don't want to venture out on the big day, here are some free and inexpensive events going on!

There is a little something for everyone on Halloween, whether it's a theater performance or a safe indoor event that won't scare the kids. Check these out:

First Fest at Houston First Baptist Church

Houston First Baptist is hosting First Fest on October 31st. There will be rides, games, candy and more plus it's free! Festivities are from 4pm until 8pm

Moe's Monster Mash Bash at Children's Museum of Houston

Over at the Children's Museum of Houston, they are hosting Moe's Monster Mash Bash. That's from 4pm to 8pm. The event will feature glow in the dark slime making, "Thriller" dancing and trick-or-treating. The event is free with paid admission to the museum.

Jack and the Frankenbeanstalk on Stage

Wear your costume October 31st to the Fort Bend Theater on Halloween and catch "Jack and the Frankenbeanstalk!" The audience will pick the winner of the kids costume contest and everyone in costume will get a treat. The show starts at 3pm and tickets are $12.

Do the Monster Mash at Memorial City Mall

It's the Monster Mash Halloween Spectacular on October 31 at Memorial City Mall. The free event is from 5pm to 7pm. There will be trick-or-treating at select retailers, plus a Bettlejuice-costumed DJ will spin Halloween tunes, including a "Thriller" dance-along.
