53 years! Teacher honored for her service at Saint Thomas' Episcopal School

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A local school is honoring a teacher who has dedicated her life to students for more than half a century.

French teacher Chantal Bencze got a big surprise Friday morning at Saint Thomas' Episcopal School. The school recognized Bencze for 53 years of service.

She says teaching is her passion and she loves her students.

"Thanks to this school I raised my children in this school. I enjoy teaching more and more," Bencze said. "I like challenges, so that provides me everyday with a challenge."

She said she wants to continue teaching as long as she can walk.
