Free school supplies, haircuts available for students

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Local organizations are helping kids get ready to go back to school with free school supplies and haircuts.

Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts is handing out free school supplies courtesy of FValdezLaw and Luis Ruiz Law Firm between 1 and 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 6 p.m. on Friday. Participants must register on the organization's website.

On Wednesday, Aug. 23, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Reed Road will offer backpacks, clothes, school supplies and more for students.
