Cy-Fair ISD school marks Veteran Appreciation Day with parade

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Some special students at Francone Elementary School are in the spotlight for spending the day honoring our nation's servicemen and women.

It was all part of Veterans Appreciation Day and the Cy-Fair ISD school's way to celebrate local military members who now serve as role models in the community.

The band played as the kids held a parade for the vets. When they finally made it to the band stand, they sang the Star Spangled Banner.

After all of the fun, we caught up with some of the kids to ask them what they think about our nation's vets.

"I'm glad that they fight for our country," student Alex Orduno said.

"What do you know about veterans? I know they fight for us and stuff and they're really good people," student Londyn LeDee said.

Our very own Natasha Barrett actually attended Francone Elementary and spoke at Friday's event.
