HOUSTON (KTRK) -- There's nothing like high school football season, and abc13 is excited to showcase high schools in the Dick's Sporting Goods Friday Flyover!

Crosby High School is such a brand-new campus that the building is still under construction.

Look at those Cougars go with their first formation!

In the small town of Crosby, Friday night football fever is burning hotter than ever.

"It kind of does shut down," said high school senior Carlan Hearn. "Every Friday night for football games, like, the town is crazy."

The town goes red. This year, there's a new found pride after the opening of the new Cougars High School campus.

"Everyone wants to talk about the smell," said high school senior Payton Bronstrop. "It smells brand-new, like when you have a house first painted."

Beyond the walls, there's technology seen in every corner. There are wifi hubs in every classroom to ensure there's alway high speed internet available to every student. There's also giant monitors throughout the lunchroom and in open teacher areas used for student and teacher presentations.

"I love it. It's the best thing ever," said student Rebekah Carter.

Every student, about 1,700, were issued a new apply MacBook computer. Homework is now turned in digitally.

"Now all your notes can be super neat because your hand does not cramp," said Carter.

So far, there's only been a few glitches with the technology. It's been more so of a boost in learning and moral.

"They have this new school, and they have opportunities and all that they can do, and they kind of walk with a purpose," said Bronstrop.
