Hotel robbery and assault
Surveillance video catches two men robbing hotel and assaulting front desk clerk.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police are asking for help finding two men who attacked a worker and robbed a Houston hotel at the end of August.

Surveillance video released Tuesday shows one suspect jump over the front desk and immediately begin assaulting the clerk.

This happened at 7 a.m. at the America's Best Value Inn on the North Sam Houston Parkway on August 25.

The video shows the hotel clerk trying to defend himself when the masked man grabs a glass jar and hits him in the head. The suspect then continues to hit him.

A second suspect, barely visible in the back corner, held hotel guests at gunpoint.

The suspects were able to steal money from the cash drawer and cell phones from the guests.

The hotel employee was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police describe the suspects as black men between 20 and 30 years old.

Anyone with information about this robbery and assault is urged to call Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
