Couple says Virgin Mary spared them from flooding
A Texas City couple says they were spared from Hurricane Harvey's flooding by the Virgin Mary statue in their front yard.

TEXAS CITY, Texas (KTRK) -- A Texas City couple says they were spared from Hurricane Harvey's flooding by the Virgin Mary statue in their front yard.

They said their neighbors flooded up and down Vicksburg Avenue, but Frank and Rosemary Orlando's house of 35 years was safe.

As they watched the floodwaters rise toward their doorstep, it suddenly stopped.

"I feel blessed. I bought that sign on purpose," said Rosemary, referring to a large sign in the window reminding readers to give thanks.
