Helping musicians after Harvey
Drive started for musicians who lost instruments during Harvey.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Since Hurricane Harvey, thousands of local musicians are now without their instruments.

One artist from San Marcos with Houston roots took it upon himself to give back in a big way.

"Big" John Mills has been collecting guitars, amps, cables, and a lot more to help those in our area.

He put the word out to any musicians on the Gulf Coast impacted by Harvey to meet at The Americana Houston.

Full-time musicians need to work quickly to replace equipment lost in the flooding so they can get back to work.

Mills doesn't think he's a hero for the work he's doing, he's just trying to help people in need.
