Armed homeowners reportedly fend off assailant

CLEVELAND, TX (KTRK) -- An armed couple reportedly fended off an attacker on Feb. 27 at their home on FM 2025 between Cleveland and Coldspring.

According to the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office, the couple was getting ready to leave for work when they observed a large male coming through a barbed wire fence to the south of their driveway.

"The male was moving quickly in an alarming manner toward the couple, who retreated inside their residence to retrieve a weapon in which to protect themselves from this trespasser," a statement from the sheriff's office reads.
