Firefighters take apart car wash rail to free stuck worker

OC car wash worker stuck in guide rail
Orange County firefighters had to disassemble part of a car wash guide rail to extricate a worker who got his foot stuck in the mechanism.

YORBA LINDA, California -- Orange County firefighters had to extricate a car wash employee who got stuck in a guide rail at the Yorba Linda business.

The worker's foot got stuck under a rail just before 1 p.m. at the Riverbend Hand Car Wash on 22290 E. La Palma Ave.

Orange County Fire Authority crews had to remove a portion of the car wash machinery to free the man.

It took about 30 minutes to remove the rail and extricate his foot. He was taken to a local hospital.

The extent of his injuries was not immediately disclosed.

It remains unclear how exactly he got his foot stuck inside the guide rail.
