Woman hit and killed by driver overnight near North Loop

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Moments after coming off a freeway, a driver hit and killed a woman overnight in what police are calling a tragic accident.

The driver exited the North Loop and struck the woman as she was walking across Lockwood Dr.

A nurse stopped to give the woman CPR, but she died at the scene.

Police say the driver was not intoxicated and was traveling at a safe speed.
