Sick teen gets dream wedding
Teen with cancer gets buck list wedding

ST. LOUIS, MO -- Most little girls dream of having a fairy tale wedding and Emily Linneman is no exception.

Steve Harris of KMOV reports that three years ago Emily was diagnosed with a bone cancer that took her leg. Then, a couple of months ago, they found an inoperable tumor in her hip. Doctors told her to start working on her bucket list.

That list included playing basketball, riding a Harley, getting a tattoo and a miniature pig.

One by one, she finished them all except for a little girl's dream of a fairy tale wedding.

"She said mom this isn't fair. I'm not supposed to die yet. I'm supposed to get married and have kids," said Emily's mother, Kim Linneman.

But Emily met Jake Schroer at a bowling alley five months ago and her mother says the two fell in love.

"And he came into this knowing how sick she was and fell in love with her anyway," said Linneman.

Jake proposed to Emily and people came together to make it happen.

It was the wedding of a lifetime.

"All I wanted was for her to look beautiful in front of her friends and family, and it ended up looking like a fairy tale. It honestly was," said Linneman

At 17, Emily got her fairy tale wedding a little sooner than she'd hoped.
