An official groundbreaking ceremony is set for Oct. 24.
The store was at the center of a polarizing 2016 referendum over the sale of alcohol on the premises, which was prohibited by a century-old ordinance. Voters chose to lift the ordinance, paving the way for the grocery store to sell alcohol.
