HOUSTON -- The world is quickly becoming focused on Houston, according to Houston Airport System's director of public relations, David Herbert.

According to Herbert, the Houston Airport System - which includes Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Hobby Airport (HOU) and Ellington Field (EFD) - is experiencing record numbers in fliers and revenue and is quickly expanding its international agenda.

"We have about 53 million passengers per year," Herbert said. "That is about 40 million at IAH and 12 million at Hobby Airport. If that was a single airport, it would be the fourth largest airport in the nation. (We have) a $27.5 billion impact each and every year. (There are) 174 cities we fly to world-wide - that's 100 domestic locations and 74 international locations and that number is constantly growing."
