Goodwill works to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to opportunity, and helping people in need, through learning and the power of work. Every person has the opportunity to achieve his/her fullest potential and participate in and contribute to all aspects of life. With that idea in mind Goodwill has partnered with ABC-13 to unveil a new series that highlights individuals who are striving to be the best that they can be and excelling, through the help of Goodwill's employment programs. Each month a different Goodwill employee, client, volunteer or donor will be featured and will share their story on how Goodwill changed their life. This month, we are highlighting Juliana. Read her profile and view her video below to learn more about how Goodwill changed her life.

Meet Juliana -- Success Story of the Month

When Juliana's husband went to prison for causing a car accident in 2008, she was pregnant with their second child and had to find a way to take care of their family. Things got worse when she lost her job and found herself nearly homeless and hanging on by a thread. The economy was down, jobs were scarce and she didn't want to depend on public assistance to take care of her family. Everything changed when she found Goodwill and got the opportunity to work as a Volunteer Coordinator. The best part, is that she was able to find a company with a purpose, which was important to her. Today, Juliana and her husband are thriving! They had their third child and are raising their family without any public assistance programs, thanks to Goodwill's help when it was needed most. Juliana's life was changed through the power of work and Goodwill's mission!
