Sportscaster Brent Musburger retiring from broadcasting after legendary career

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Broadcasting icon Brent Musburger - the man who coined the phrase "you are looking live" will be retiring at the end of this month.

Sports Anchor Larry Beil shares his memories with Musburger below.

The legendary sportscaster has done it all, from his days at CBS as the first big time NFL pre-game host to the NBA to college football and basketball.

I remember calling him out of the blue when I was writing for the university of Hawaii student newspaper and he spent half an hour with me on the phone, talking about his career.

Years later we worked together on ESPN radio, I remember asking him about his favorite event to broadcast. He said he never looked back, always looked forward.

Musburger says he's going to launch a gambling business in Las Vegas, which is no surprise given he always knew the spread of every game he was calling.
