Weather didn't deter BP MS 150 spirit
This weekend's wet weather didn't let riders keep from staying focused on the finish line

LA GRANGE, TX (KTRK) -- This weekend's wet weather may have changed the route but not the goal of the BP MS 150. Thousands of riders hit the road for the trip from La Grange to Austin, motivated to help find a cure for the disease. Among them is our own Eyewitness News reporter Christine Dobbyn, she participated in the ride.

It's the annual ride to raise money for the fight against multiple sclerosis. Organizers cancelled the Saturday because of bad weather. So on Sunday, there is only was only one route.

The Bechtel Challenge Route was not used. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department confirmed that Bastrop and Buescher State Parks received 4 inches of rain in the last three days. State Parks had significant standing water Park Road 1C is closed due to high, flowing water at Alum Creek. These roads were not conducive for a safe route.

The ride started at the Fayette County Courthouse in La Grange, Texas and finish in Austin.
