Missing fisherman's boat found going in circles in Trinity Bay
Fisherman Tony Nguyen was reported missing on April 2. Now, almost a week later, the search for Nguyen has come to an end.

GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The search for a missing fisherman has come to an end days after he was reported missing.

On Thursday, the Chambers County Sheriff's Office reported the body of missing fisherman Tony Nguyen was found at 4:30 p.m.

"Civilian boaters found the body of Tony Nguyen near the center of the Trinity Bay approximately 10 miles away from where he was believed to have fallen from his boat into the water," the county's Facebook post read.

Nguyen was reported missing Saturday, April, 2, after deputies found his empty boat just a day before as it ran in circles in Trinity Bay.

At the time, deputies said they found the boat was still in gear in the Vingt Et Un Islands off Smith Point.

Nguyen's cell phone and wallet were on board and retrieved by deputies.

As authorities continue investigating the fisherman's death, the sheriff's office wrote it does not suspect any foul play.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mr. Nguyen. I would like to remind boaters of the importance of using an engine kill switch and wearing their life vest when operating a boat in the waters of Chambers County," said Sheriff Brian Hawthorne.
