Police: Beer thief drags officer in SE Houston parking lot

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Take a close look at the man in the above video. He's wanted for an assault on a police officer.

It happened on September 6 in the parking lot of a grocery store in the 5900 block of the Gulf Freeway. Police just released the surveillance video Monday.

They say the officer saw the man loading four cases of stolen beer into his vehicle. When the officer confronted him, the suspect jumped into his car. The officer was right behind him, but the suspect backed out of the parking space, briefly dragging the officer who was holding onto the door.
