A man who police say stole two cases of beer and then pulled a gun on those who tried to stop him is on the run

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A $5,000 reward is being offered for a beer robber who pulled a gun on people who tried to stop him in the act at a grocery store back in October.

Authorities say around 12:40pm on October 30, the man picked up cases of beer at a grocery store in the the 5200 block of W. 34th St., and walked out without paying. When associates tried to stop him in the parking lot, he struggled with them and then he pulled a gun, authorities say.

Police say he ran from the scene and jumped into the bed of a white Ford extended cab F150 pick-up truck and fled the area.

Video surveillance cameras in the store captured images of the suspect. He's described as a Hispanic male, approximately 25 to 35 years of age with black hair and a black goatee. The suspect was wearing a dark colored baseball cap, a white shirt and blue jeans at the time of the crime.
