One dead, 2 injured in boat collision near Baytown

BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- At least one person is dead and two others injured in a boat collision at Devil's Elbow, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The accident happened just before 2pm when two boats collided and capsized. There were at least seven people total on both boats. It's unclear how many were on each boat.

Some nearby good Samaritans were able to help people out of the water. The Coast Guard helped transport those involved to shore.

An investigation is underway to determine what exactly happened.
