BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- An argument over vehicle damage in Baytown escalated to gunfire Thursday, say police. And now one person is in custody and the other in a hospital.

It happened near Pinewood and Oakwood Ct. Police say one person involved either hit or kicked the other's vehicle. That's when a suspect went to get a shotgun and when he did, the victim ran away.

Investigators say the suspect fired one shot and missed, then chased the victim and fired another shot, hitting him in the back with buckshot.

The victim was transported to a hospital in Pasadena, and the suspect was taken into custody and is now facing aggravated assault charnges.
