WHARTON, TX (KTRK) -- A former high school band director is out of the classroom and facing serious accusations.
Jason Toney was the band director at Wharton High School until his resignation in April.
Toney is now charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student and sexual assault of a child.
The district would not comment on the details of the investigation, but did say they are committed to ensuring the safety of students.
