Toyota recalls 6.5M vehicles worldwide
Fire risk is at the center of a recall affecting 2.7 million Toyotas in the United States.

Toyota is recalling 6.5 million vehicles because a glitch could cause them to catch fire.

Roughly 2.7 million of the recalled cars were sold in North America.

The recall affects the Yaris, Corolla, Camry, Matrix, Rav4, Highlander, Tundra, Sequia and Scion. All the affected models were made between 2005 and 2010.

Toyota says modules in the power windows may short circuit and catch fire. The company says the defect has not caused any accidents.
