A new feature on the 2015 Corvette could get you in trouble with police.
The Chevrolet Corvette "valet mode with performance data recorder" allows drivers to lock interior storage, disable the infotainment system, and now record video, audio and vehicle data.
"Think of it as a baby monitor for your car," Corvette product manager Harlan Charles said in a statement.
But here's the problem. It's illegal in many states to secretly record video of someone without their consent first.
General Motors is now sending drivers and dealers a letter instructing them to not use the feature, CNN Money reports, and if they do use the feature, they should first "obtain consent from the vehicle's occupants."
GM says its working to make "a software update available to remedy this issue."
