Authorities: Deadly wreck in southeast Houston sparked by fleeing driver

HOUSTON

Police say a 26-year-old woman in a pickup was fleeing another accident when she ran the light on Holly Hall at Highway 288. The pickup hit a car and pushed it into a pole.

A 47-year-old woman in the car was killed. Her husband, who was driving, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was treated and released.

The pickup driver was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with no apparent injuries.

No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
