This weekend thousands of high school students will be looking their best for prom. Remington College wants to help kids look and feel their best – all at no cost! All three college campuses are holding Prom Night Makeovers that will provide teens with free updos, manicures, pedicures, and makeup for girls, while guys can come in for a free haircut. Appointments are recommended.

The gourmet pretzel shop is determined to give away the most free pretzels in the company's history on National Pretzel Day (April 26) while raising funds and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. FINS in Spring is holding its First Annual Water Safety Challenge Saturday April 26. Kids can come get in the water and test their skills for free with swim instructors. Parents can come learn how to lower their child's risk for drowning. There will also be free carnival games and activities for everyone. The event takes place from 3 to 6 p.m.

If you love your pets, but don't know all the secrets to keep them looking their best, Petco wants to help. In preparation for more outdoor playtimes, Petco will be hosting free skin and coat seminars on April 26 and 27. Groomers will share easy tips for pet parents on DIY dog grooming and at-home bathing. Bayou Bend Family Day is Sunday and there will be fun for everyone. There will be performances by musicians, puppeteers, dancers, and storytellers. Young children can take part in arts and crafts activities. There will also be guided tours of the home and giveaways throughout the day. The action takes place from 1 to 5 p.m.

Legacy Community Health Services is holding a grand opening celebration on Saturday, April 26 at their San Jacinto location. There will be free health screenings open to the public. There will also be a DJ playing live music to dance to and crawfish available on a first-come first-served basis. Doors will open to the public for the grand opening celebration starting at 11 a.m. and the event will wrap up at 2 p.m.

The Miller Outdoor Theater is kicking off its new season of free fun this Sunday. The Fab 5 Beatles Tribute Band performs at 8 p.m.

This Saturday is the annual San Jacinto Day Festival and Battle Reenactment. Hundreds of history re-enactors, complete with cannons, horses, and other props will recreate the events leading up to Texas winning its independence at the decisive Battle of San Jacinto. There will be music, entertainment and activities. The battle reenactment begins at 3 p.m., but events go on from 10 am to 6 pm.
