The attack happened inside a unit at the South Shore apartments at 2800 E. League City Parkway. According to League City police, Chelsi Camp, 23, was pet-sitting her boyfriend's pit bull, when the dog became violent and attacked Camp and her two-year-old daughter.
The mother called 911, and when police arrived the dog was still attacking. Officers shot the aggressive dog and later euthanized it.
The toddler suffered wounds on her head and face and her mother was bitten on the hands and arms. Both were taken to a Memorial Hermann Hospital; the mother by ground ambulance and the toddler by Life Flight. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Police officers described the scene as traumatic to witness.
