Animal cruelty warrant roundup nets dozen arrests

HOUSTON

Authorities with Precinct 1 and Precinct 5 tried to serve 25 open warrants. They were able to clear 14 of those cases, with 13 arrests on Saturday. One other individual had recently passed away.

Saturday's roundup comes after the shocking discovery of more than 100 cats living in deplorable conditions near the Jersey Village area.

Officials tell us they are seeing more and more animal cruelty cases and are reminding residents to report any possible animal abuse.

"As you know animals don't have voices, people do but animals don't and somebody gotta be a voice for those animals and it's gonna be us," said Constable Alan Rosen.

If you have an open warrant, you can call the department's Warrant Division at 713-755-7676.
