Investigators say the accident happened around 10pm on State Highway 105 at Goode City.
Investigators say a Suburban driven by a woman was on 105 when she crossed the center lane and hit a Cadillac. The Cadillac had a man, woman and three children in the back.
A Ford Explorer with three people inside then hit the already-disabled Cadillac.
In all, nine people were hurt and taken to various hospitals. A three-year-old girl was most gravely injured. She was air-lifted to Texas Children's Hospital.
Authorities say it's not clear at this point if all three children were in the correct safety seats. The woman who started the chain reaction accident had two dogs with her. At least one dog did not survive.
The accident is under investigation.
