Police: Porsche-driving burglar uses blow torch to steal from coin box at Pasadena car wash

It happened between 4 and 6am February 27 at the car wash in the 4800 block of Spencer Highway. The suspect pulled into the carwash and acted like he was going to wash his car. He then exited the car and pulled out some type of equipment from the back. He then placed what appeared to be a torch against the lock on the coin box and pretended to wash his vehicle.

When the box lock was broken, he collected the coins from the box and moved onto the next one.

The suspect was driving what appears to be a newer model gray Porsche Cayenne SUV. The suspect vehicle has a trailer hitch on the rear but no license plates.

The suspect appears to be a white or Hispanic male wearing a long brown leather jacket, tan ball cap and tan pants.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect in this case is asked to call Detective Sorrell at 713-475-7893 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous; and, if any Crime Stoppers information leads to an arrest or the filing of felony charges, the tipster will be eligible for up to a $5,000 cash reward.
