Deputies say he used a tactic called 'skimming', where information is illegally copied from the magnetic strip on the back of a debit or credit card. Authorities say a Harris County District Court judge was part of a list of thousands who have had their identities stolen.
Like so many victims, the judge had no idea there was a problem until after the purchases were made.
Scammers use a fake or cloned card and then run up charges using your account information.
Call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS if you recognize the man. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identity and arrest of this suspect.
