Katy Fire Department chief pleads to drug theft

HOUSTON

Marc Jordan has been on unpaid leave as Katy fire chief since his indictment last May. He was sentenced Monday to six years' probation, nine days in the Harris County jail, a $2,000 fine and 200 hours of community service. He also must write a letter apologizing to the Katy Fire Department.

Federal drug agents audited the department's drug inventory after receiving a tip. The audit confirmed a record discrepancy and a note from Duncan saying he dropped a box containing vials of the drug also known as Valium. A surveillance video showed Jordan removing vials.
