The confrontation happened at a crawfish boil last May. Police say the victim, Brandon Smith, was accused of trespassing. The homeowner, Karl Edward Hormann, III, asked him to leave. When he didn't, Hormann allegedly grabbed a gun and escorted him off the property.
At some point, authorities say Hormann shot Smith three times.
Hormann has been released on bond.
