Anne Flash had been charged with murder in the 2011 death of her son, Michael Flash. The Austin American-Statesman reports the jury acquitted Flash on Thursday after three hours of deliberations.
The newspaper reports police found Flash cradling her son's body when they arrived at her home at about midnight on Nov. 18, 2011. An arrest affidavit says she told police she had shot her son.
Flash says the shooting was accidental. She says she pointed the gun at her son after they argued for several hours and he tried to find the drugs she had hidden. She says the gun went off when he grabbed her.
