According to deputies, the single-engine Cessna crashed about half of a mile southwest of Hooks Airport near Boudreaux Road and Gleannloch Forest Drive.
It had just taken off when it apparently lost engine power.
Officials say three people were on board at the time. One person was hurt and had to be taken to a nearby hospital. The other two were fine.
DPS and the FAA are investigating what caused the crash.
