The first carjacking happened at an apartment complex on Corporate Drive. The victim said four men approached him, demanding his van, phone and money. He says the suspects beat him up and drove off, but an anti-theft device he had installed shut the vehicle off a short while later.
That's when the suspects ran down Wilcrest to a nearby apartment complex, where they shot a woman in the stomach, took her car and fled.
The woman is expected to be OK.
Neighbors are shocked.
"Living in a gated community, you think you're safe," nearby resident Dan Crippen said. "Obviously you're not. If someone has intentions of doing something, they're going to do it no matter what."
No other details were immediately available.
