Fort Bend ISD: Student injured during fights at high school

HOUSTON

SkyEye HD was over the scene as police cars were still parked in front of Marshall High School Thursday afternoon.

The school's principal, Cozette Church-Gaston, sent a letter home to parents saying several students at lunch were involved in fights Thursday and some suffered minor injuries.

As a result, Church-Gaston says several limitations will be implemented at the school on Friday.

Church-Gaston says students will not be allowed to bring backpacks to campus, and they'll be given less time to pass between classes. For lunch, students will be served sack lunches, and they'll be eating in the classroom.

"It is unfortunate that the inappropriate actions of a few students impact all of us at Marshall. We are working on ways to involve our community to help engage all of our students in making responsible choices and in demonstrating self-respect," the letter to parents read.

Church-Gaston says extra security officers will be present at the campus on Friday.
