Bait shop owner credits singing bass for warding off burglar

A bait shop owner in Rochester, Minnesota, believes an unlikely alarm saved the day when someone apparently tried to burglarize his business.

CNN reports that "Billy the Bass" is a mounted plastic fish that sings -- a door alarm with a motion-detector that allows him to announce customers, singing at their arrival when the owner is in the back.

But when the owner opened the shop Monday morning, he saw the door had been kicked in. Luckily, nothing was missing.

According to reports, the owner forgot to turn Billy off when he left Sunday. It seems the silly, singing bass went off on cue, stopping the burglar in his tracks.
