A man who relieved himself on the Alamo could spend more than a year in jail.

Daniel Athens pleaded guilty to felony criminal mischief of a public monument. He will have to pay a $4,000 fine to repair damage to the facade of the 250-year-old mission.

Athens is seeking probation. The district attorney's office indicates it might try to send Athens to jail for 18 months, which is the maximum sentence.
